I have always had a passion for trees and dirt. Growing up in Iva, South Carolina, I spent countless hours playing in the creeks and woods behind our home. That love for the outdoors led me to pursue a forestry degree at Clemson University, which opened the door to a fulfilling career in the timber industry. I worked with Champion Paper, International Paper, and Durham’s Hardwoods, a hardwood sawmill in Pickens, SC.  I was blessed to have a career I loved; helping landowners manage their timberland and sell their timber responsibly. 

In 2002, with the support of my wonderful wife Sheila and our two-year-old son, Whitner, I founded Cann Land & Timber, LLC. A couple of years later, we welcomed our daughter Lily Frances into the family. Around the same time, I began selling real estate. As I took on more land listings, I found I have a talent for selling properties that had lingered on the market. With a few smart changes and a fresh marketing approach, I was often able to help sellers get their land sold quickly; something I found deeply rewarding. 

As my real estate business grew and my work shifted more toward land sales than timber, we rebranded as Cann Realty, LLC.  Today, we serve clients throughout the Upstate of South Carolina and Northeast Georgia.  We’re active in six MLS systems, giving our listings maximum exposure. 

At Cann Realty, We focus on marketing your property, not ourselves. Our clients’ interests always come first. Unlike some in our industry, we’re not looking to buy and flip your land for our own gain. Our mission is simple: to give you the best advice, the best exposure, and the best sales results possible.
